Target Audience
Chemical / lab personnel, safety personnel or employees who are involved in the handling of hazardous substances in chemical plants or electronics and manufacturing industries.
Course Overview
At the end of the course, participants will be familiar with:
- Legislative requirements related to safe chemical handling to prevent workplace accidents
- Chemical hazards and their associated risks
- Safe work practices and emergency procedures when handling chemicals
Course Duration
7 hours (1 day) include assessment hours
Assessment
There will be a short test that consists of 40 multiple choice questions.

- New Workplace Health and Safety Act (WSHA) Framework and legal requirements
- Overview of chemical hazards and their associated risks
- Risk assessment process
- Safe work practices for chemical handling, transporting, storage and disposal
- Chemical emergency response procedures
