Extinguisher maintenance officers, fire alarm engineers, building maintenance engineers, marine/offshore engineers who need to be in charge of inspecting / maintaining / recharging fire extinguishers

Course Overview

At the end of the course, participants will learn how to:

Distinguish different types of fire extinguisher
Do hydrostatic testing on fire extinguishers
Inspect, maintain and recharge fire extinguishers

Course Duration

18 hours (3 days)

Assessment

Theory and practical test will be conducted for all participants.

Introduction to fire extinguishers
Types of fire extinguishers, classifications and ratings
Overview on construction of fire extinguishers
Selection & distribution of fire extinguishers
Maintenance of fire extinguishers
Recharging of fire extinguishers
Hydrostatic testing of fire extinguishers

Pre-requisites

Participants are required to complete either:
Secondary 2 (Mathematics & Science) or NTC
