CU4 – Prepare & Facilitate Classroom Training

Target Audience

This course is suitable for those who are moving into the training arena with some knowledge in this field. It is also suitable for full or part-time in-house trainers, training consultants, assessment developers and assessors.

Course Overview

This unit looks at the process of preparing and facilitating classroom training. Learners can acquire competencies such as reviewing learners’ profile and adjusting the training programme accordingly. It also covers:-

  • preparing the necessary resources and training environment
  • creating and maintaining a conducive learning environment
  • effective use of instructional skills and strategies
  • monitoring learners’ progress and conducting a post-course review

  • Course Duration

    20.5 hours (including 1.5 hours assessment)

    Assessment

    Participants are required to attend one and a half hour of assessment.

    Course Outline

    This unit looks at the process of preparing and facilitating classroom training. The competency elements covered in this competency unit are:

    • Review learners' profile and adjust training programme to meet their needs
    • Prepare resources needed for training delivery
    • Create and maintain a conducive learning environment
    • Facilitate learning through effective instructional skills and strategies
    • Monitor learners' progress and adjust training programme
    • Review post-course evaluation

    Pre-requisites

    Participants who signed up for this competency unit are required to have the following skills and knowledge, equivalent to Employability Skills System:

    • Communication and relationship management (Operations)
    • Problem-solving and decision-making (Operations)
    • Learning and personal development (Operations)
    • Workplace ICT skills
    • Workplace Literacy Level 8
    • Workplace Numeracy Level 7
