Course Overview

The Certified Service Professional (CSP) course aims to provide early entrants and individuals, who are looking to develop a vibrant and exciting career in the Tourism and Service related industry, with fundamental skills and mindset of a service professional.

The CSP course revolves around delivering excellent, customised and personalised service, how to interact with customers/ guests as well as how to exceed service standards.

All trainees will undergo comprehensive theorectical and practical training in the above-mentioned areas including interactive case study discussions, group-work and simulated on-the-job trainings.

Pre-requisites

  • Possess GCE 'N'/'O' level pass in English

    OR

  • ESS (Employability Skills System) Workplace Literacy (WPL) level 4 certification

    AND

  • Intention from trainee to seek tourism or service related employment

Progression

This course serves as the basic foundation for individuals interested in the Tourism and Service related industry as well as employees new to the mentioned industry. As the CSP course is equivalent to all operational level modules in the WSQ Service Excellence framework, trainees can proceed to the next level of learning - supervisory and managerial level WSQ modules.

  • Mutual sharing and feedback sessions
  • Group and individual exercises (E.g. Role-plays)

Assessment

Assessment is ongoing; during lessons and throughout the entire course. Trainees will be observed and assessed on their behaviour throughout the course based on the 10 Qualities of a Service Professional and various class activities.
