Target Audience

The Pharmacy Assistant Course is an introductory level training programme for clinic assistants, retail assistants who are working in pharmacies and school leavers/ individuals who are interested to pursue a job in the Pharmaceutical/ Healthcare industry. 15th intake: 9 Mar 2010 to 22 May 2010.

Course Duration

70.5 hours (excludes assessment hours)
Classes will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday, 7pm to 9pm and Saturday, 2pm to 6pm.

Assessment

Total assessment duration is 9.5 hours.
Group case study & theory assessment at the end of every module

Course Outline

The Pharmacy Assistant Course is designed to train and equip individuals with the technical, administrative and clerical aspects of the pharmacy profession.

The Pharmacy Assistant Course is a quick and easy way to be a certified Pharmacy Assistant. There are 10 modules in the Pharmacy Assistant Course. Each module can be completed in one week.

Candidates who have completed the course can anticipate career opportunities in hospitals, retail pharmacies, private clinics, medical centres, polyclinics, retail outlets dealing with healthcare and more.

The course will cover the following aspects of basic Pharmaceutical training:

Technical Aspects of Medicine
Fundamentals of Good Pharmacy Practice
Commercial Aspects of Drugs
Regulatory Control of Drugs in Singapore
Drug Supply, Procurement and Storage

Minimum "N" level certificate OR equivalent
Working experience is advantageous
