Who Should Attend

The target audience of this competency unit may include:

  • Occupational Hygiene (OH) professionals such as OH technicians, officers and occupational hygienists, ergonomics practitioners, occupational health nurses who want to learn about evaluation of ergonomics risk at the workplace
  • Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) professionals, such as WSH Coordinators, Officers, and Auditors who want to learn about evaluation of ergonomics risk at the workplace

Course Overview

This unit covers the knowledge and techniques required to evaluate risks due to ergonomics at the workplace. It will include the evaluation of how concepts in ergonomics are applied in three main areas (Human-Body-Centred, Information-Centred and Organisation-Centred) at workplaces.

Pre-requisites

These are the admission requirements:

(a) Literacy and Numeracy

  • WSQ Employability Skills Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 6; or
  • Grade C6 in GCE O Level for English and Mathematics

(b) Science

  • Grade C6 in GCE O Level Science (either Physics, Chemistry or Biology)

(c) Attitude, Skills and Knowledge

  • Recommended to have 2 years working experience in any industry

Note: All Modules will be assessed according to full qualification. You may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test. Applications without ALL the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected.

Course Outline

  • Conduct ergonomic survey and evaluation to collect data on ergonomic factors
  • Analyse data
  • Verify evaluation results and assess ergonomics risks in accordance with the organisational risk management process
  • Control measures of ergonomics-related hazards
  • Measure the impact of ergonomics with the use of performance indicators

Upon successful completion and assessment of each training module, you will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA).

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

SkillsFuture Credit:

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding

PSEA:

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) funds to offset course fee payable after funding

UTAP:

  • NTUC Members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee
  • Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
