Course Overview

This course is contextualised to enable learners to establish and monitor income and expenses control systems for their F&B business. In addition, learners will also be able to administer petty cash and review financial records.

This course is primarily for F&B entrepreneurs or new outlet managers. There are content contextualised to the F&B industry and contains learning activities which are targeted at this industry.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Establish an income and expenses control system for the F&B industry
  • Monitor the system for its effectiveness
  • Administer petty cash
  • Review financial records

Learners will be able to perform the following:

  • Assess the effectiveness of established control systems for income and expenses
  • Monitor income and expenses
  • Manage petty cash
  • Ensure completeness & accuracy of financial records in accordance with organisational procedures

Learners will be able to state/describe/explain the following:

  • Types of control systems for income and expenses and procedures to establish them
  • Methods to assess the effectiveness of control systems for income and expenses
  • Types and characteristics of costs
  • Cost control measures

Pre-requisites

Prior to attending this course, trainees should have:

  • Speak, Listen, Read and Write English at WPL Level 4 or equivalent
  • Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4 or equivalent

Course Outline

This course aims to give learners fundamental knowledge in monitoring income and expenses in their F&B business. Learners will be able to learn the various types of control systems for income and expenses and procedures to establish them. Learners will also learn the methods and how to assess the effectiveness of established control systems for income and expenses. The financial records of managing petty cash, ensuring completeness and accuracy, the types and characteristics of costs and cost control measures are included in this programme to enhance learners knowledge on how to monitor income and expenses.

Certification Obtained and Conferred by

SSGs Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to learners who have achieved 75% attendance and are Competent (PASS) in their assessment.
