Course Objectives

On completion of this unit, learner shall be able to have the following knowledge and application skills to apply them to the workplace:

  • Interpret workplace safety and health policies, procedures, and programmes
  • Educate workers on workplace safety and health policies, procedures, and programmes
  • Implement and control workplace safety and health management programmes
  • Implement workplace risk management programmes
  • Maintain workplace risk control measure

Pre-requisites

These are the admission requirements:

  • PSLE / GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ levels
  • ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 3

Course Outline

  • Explain to the workgroup information on the provision of personal protective equipment in the workplace
  • Explain and provide the workgroup information on the provision of safety devices on the machinery and equipment
  • Explain and provide the workgroup promptly with accessible information about identified hazards and the outcomes of risk assessment
  • Resolve matters raised through consultation promptly or refer to the appropriate personnel for resolution according to workplace procedures
  • Identify and report hazards in the workplace in accordance with organisational procedures
  • Implement work procedures for risk assessment and control
  • Monitor compliance to work procedures for risk assessment and control by the work group

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

SkillsFuture Credit: 

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP: 

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP.
