Featured Trainer – Mr Sarbojit Bose

HOW IT STARTED

Mr Sarbojit Bose joined NTUC LearningHub (LHUB) a year ago and is currently our Infocomm Technology (ICT) trainer. Currently 27th year into his career, he has vast experiences in various ICT areas such as Project Management, Cybersecurity and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

“I have been working in the IT industry all along and I thought to myself – since I like to share information, why not be a trainer and pass on what I know to others?” said Sarbojit. Being passionate about what is happening in the IT industry also played a part in his career move, and hence he decided to join LHUB as a trainer. He conducts courses related to ICT and is also tasked to create course curriculums for topics on Cybersecurity.

LEARNER’S APPRECIATION

Being appreciated by learners brightens Sarbojit’s day at work and this keeps him going. He recalled one of his learners, Mr Toh who, is a senior learner at the age of 72. “His attitude is indeed remarkable and commendable. He is dedicated and sincere in learning. Though he came with zero knowledge, he passed his assessment after his 5 days’ course with us. His hunger for learning encouraged me to walk an extra mile or two with him.”

Mr Toh also shared: “Mr Sarbojit really impressed me with the depth of his knowledge on IS Auditing. His explanation and clarification makes learning easy – using practical analogies. With zero knowledge on IS Auditing, I brought back a lot of valuable inputs which helped me greatly.”

PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY TOWARDS LIFE

“Practice what you preach” – This is what Sarbojit believes in firmly. During his free time, he would spend time with his family and share with his kids his life experiences.

Sarbojit shared that the training industry has changed over the years and attitudes towards learning has changed greatly too. “The thinking of individuals are different from the past. You would need to use various ways to instil knowledge into them.”
