With a bubbly and cheerful character, Ms Stella was high-spirited when we interviewed her. “Being cheerful influences people and I hope to bring this positive vibe and influence those around me.”

Despite turning 70 soon, Stella is still doing actively assisting in research works related to medical studies at one of the local universities. She was a nurse previously but has retired a couple of years back. “When I was working, I didn’t really have the opportunity to learn new skills. I thought to myself, since I have the time now, why not take up some courses to learn some new skills and put them into use?” shared Stella. She decided to look for courses related to computer skills as she was not proficient in that aspect.

Stella eventually took up the Basic Application of the Computer, and subsequently the Perform Word Processing Functions (Word) and Perform Spreadsheet Functions (Excel) with NTUC LearningHub (LHUB). She enjoyed the courses and learnt many useful applications through the courses. “I’m glad that I chose LHUB as my course provider. The sales and counter staff were helpful and addressed my training needs. The training facilities were also conducive. With the help of my trainer, Ms Lien Lee Hong, I managed to pick up the concepts fast and I can now use the computer with minimal help required,” shared Stella.
