This week, we catch up with Cindy Ho, a key trainer for NTUC LearningHub’s SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme. A trainer since 2011, Cindy prides herself as a friendly and humorous facilitator who can quickly build rapport with her learners. A believer that learning should be a memorable experience, she makes use of various activities in her training so that participants find learning an enjoyable experience. She is always ready to share her many experiences in life and work to enrich participants’ learning. We speak to her to find out more about the Skillsfuture for Digital Workplace programme!

Q: What is the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme about?

A: The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme, or SFDW for short, is a two-day awareness programme for Singaporeans to learn about emerging technologies in the workplace, as well as in daily life. There are many changes happening around us and the SFDW programme hopes to inform learners of these changes and some of its impact on our work and lives.

Q: How long have you been training the SFDW programme and how has your experience been like?

A: I have been training the SFDW programme with NTUC LearningHub since its launch in August 2017. I have trained both public classes and corporate classes. Participants from the public classes are always amazed at how fast Singapore is moving towards being a Smart Nation. They appreciate how the programme exposes them to the different technologies affecting their daily lives – both at work and at home.

Q: What is so special about NTUC LearningHub’s SFDW programme?

A: LearningHub’s SFDW programme is very hands-on and experiential. There are many engaging activities that will help participants learn through hands-on activities or active group discussions and presentations.

Concepts like cybersecurity and data analytics will be broken down for participants so they can understand what they mean and how it relates to their lives. One highlight of the programme is a field trip we will be taking together – we will be visiting an organization to learn how it has stood the test of time and kept up with digital and technological changes to remain cutting edge!

Q: Who do you think should register for the SFDW programme?

A: If you have heard of things like Smart Nation, cybersecurity, data analytics, innovation and technology, but don’t really know what they mean, and want to find out more – then SFDW is the programme for you! We will be exploring and discussing these topics in class and its impact on our lives. The programme also is highly subsidized by the government – only $50 for Singaporeans, and you can also use your SkillsFuture Credits to pay for it. Better still if you are a union member – you only need to pay $10!

Still undecided? Come on down to our Mega Roadshow at Toa Payoh Hub from 4 to 10 March to find out more and speak to our friendly course consultants! See you there!
