Course Overview

With the changes happening in the digital era, people are getting much more connected in every way. The landscape of social engagement has changed with the evolution of how people interact with a combination of physical and virtual engagement. The idea of developing a professional image and competence to achieve personal career goals has also shifted in multiple directions.

The ways of career planning and developing of professional image could potentially be position as a face to face meeting or building a presence online. Barriers to communication are slowly disappearing, where social circles are growing. The new changes provide many opportunities for businesses and potential candidates seeking the best-fit collaboration.

On completion of this unit, the participant will be able to perform the following:

  1. Assess personal competencies to formulate personal career goals in the future of work.
  2. Conduct market research to establish personal career opportunities in the organization and develop a career plan to meet personal career goals
  3. Review requirements of selected career path to develop a personal career portfolio.
  4. Synthesis personal competencies to develop a brand image that optimize use of new media that is in line with the organization.
  5. Develop and maintain professional corporate image to project personal brand off and online.
  6. Develop networking skills in the hybrid environment using new media tools and appropriate interpersonal approaches in managing company’s stakeholder.
  7. Use effective presentation skills in the hybrid mode to promote organization brand in managing company’s assignments.
  8. Use effective presentation skills to promote personal competencies in managing personal progression and securing job.
  9. Maintain professional competence to ensure the continuing relevance of personal brand and competencies to relevant stakeholders
  10. Review achievement of personal career goals and develop corrective strategies to address unrealised career goals in the hybrid work environment.

Pre-requisites

Prior to attending this course, trainees should be able to:

  • Read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WS level 4
  • Communicate information effectively and work in a team
  • Plan and organise resources and activities to complete work activities within timeframes
  • Come with basic technology knowledge (eg. Know how to serve the web and has email address)
  • Have basic knowledge in using Office(Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

SSGs Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to learners who have achieved 75% attendance and are Competent (PASS) in their assessment.

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria

  • NTUC Members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP)

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding:

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee
