Course Overview
Coaching and Mentoring are 2 common approaches in the workplace to enhance performance of individuals in the workplace. People leaders play an important role to help team members become productive individuals who contribute to the overall organisational and team goals.
Learn how to enable team members to have self-awareness and take ownership of their actions and performance by leveraging on their strengths. This course further aid learners to differentiate between Coaching and Mentoring and how to use them synergistically to maximise potential of team members.

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate individual team members' strengths, capabilities, and learning styles to guide personalised developmental interventions.
- Facilitate open discussions within a coaching environment that enables team members to set goals and development plans.
- Advise team members on formulating comprehensive career development plans and recommend ambitious stretch goals aligned with organisational objectives.
- Apply motivation and reinforcement concepts to empower team members' enthusiasm for surpassing their goals.
- Acquire coaching and mentoring techniques to empower team members, fostering a culture of continuous development.
- Provide ongoing feedback that reinforces positive behaviours and nurtures performance and growth.
- Leverage organisational learning and development policies and procedures to facilitate continuous improvement in team performance.
Pre-requisites
The admission requirements are:
- Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 5
- Have more than 1 year or more of work experience; and
- Have at least 1 year’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Hardware & Software (if applicable)
- This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
- Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as Critical Core Skills – Developing People CCS-DVP-I002-1.
- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
