Course Overview
The modern workplace requires individuals to be both task- and relationship-oriented. Our work now focuses on collaboration, communication and problem solving as building blocks to work cohesively and productively within an organisation. At work, in the process of presenting and exchanging ideas, we are constantly being influenced or trying to influence others.
Through this course, learn how you can become more competent at understanding stakeholders, developing relationships and eventually influence them and solve problems collaboratively.

Course Objectives
The course helps learners to be equipped with the know-how to identify and leverage different types of workplace relationships to achieve professional goals with influencing and relevant communication skills. Learners will learn to:
- Recognise diversity dimensions, preferences, and cultural sensitivity of others through EI dimensions and application at workplace
- Demonstrate empathy to observe responses and behaviours of others to understand their needs at workplace
- Understand different types of communication techniques to identify appropriate channels and tools for communication in the workplace
- Discuss appropriate methods to draw opinions and views from others to achieve desired goals and objectives through effective questioning techniques
- Apply personal brand to influence others
Pre-requisites
The admission requirements are:
- Be able to speak, listen, read, and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 4.
- (Only for Online Classes) Hardware & Software
- This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
- Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.
