Who Should Attend

The WSQ cleaning aims to help workers in the cleaning industry obtain the fundamental skills and equip them with the basic knowledge of cleaning for their specific environment.

Course Overview

On completion of this module, participant will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in health and safety procedures to be taken when clearing spillages and removing dirt and debris on hard floors.

Course Outline

Types of hard floors

  • Learn how to recognise and differentiate each types of hard floor
  • Able to characterise each different types of hard floor

Types of cleaning tools

  • Identify each type of cleaning tools, equipments, chemicals and other supplies
  • Learn how to read colour coding

Health and Safety procedures

  • Learn about industrial health and safety standards and procedures
  • Learn to ensure safety requirements are met

Clear spillages and impacted soil

  • Identify different types of spillages and impacted soil
  • Select the right tools, equipments and solutions required to clear spillages and impacted soil.
  • Carry out the right procedures to remove spillages and impacted soil

Removal of loose dirt and debris

  • Identify types of dirt and debris
  • Select the right tools and equipment for removing loose dirt and debris
  • Choose the correct method to remove loose dirt and debris

Single solution mopping

  • Determine the appropriate tools and equipment required for single solution mopping
  • Choose the correct method for single solution mopping

Reinstate work area

  • Inspect the work site for cleanliness and completion of job
  • Check for damages on all equipments and tools
  • Recording of work activities

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • Certificate of Attendance from NTUC LearningHub
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
