ACADEMIC BOARD

Kwek Kok Kwong

Chairman

Kwek Kok Kwong has been the Chief Executive Officer of NTUC LearningHub (LHUB) since February 2013. Prior to joining NTUC, Kok Kwong served with distinction in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 27 years before retiring as a Brigadier General on 31 July 2012.

Under his leadership, LHUB has further strengthened its contributions as a key player in Singapore for training in Workplace Safety and Health, IT, Service Excellence and Workplace Literacy. Kok Kwong strongly advocates e-learning and LHUB has since collaborated with two international partners to offer e-learning through the LHUB e-shop. He is now leading a transformation journey for LHUB to offer companies and individuals with holistic solutions towards business and personal excellence.

Kok Kwong strongly believes in lifelong learning and is a keen learner himself. In his learning journey, Kok Kwong graduated with Honours in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 1989, a Masters of Arts (Arts and Social Sciences) in 1993, and a Masters in Public Administration, with the Lucius N. Littauer Fellow distinction in 2002. In his free time, Kok Kwong continues to learn through seminars and books, and he is today a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner.

Jenaline Low

Member

Jenaline heads the Eldercare which focuses on designing learning solutions for the Healthcare sector; and spearheads the L&D function across the organization to provide clients and partners with a consistent and yet agile methodology in equipping workers with skills for today and the future.

Jenaline has rejoined NTUC LearningHub after almost a decade, during which she led a SGX mainboard listed investment holding company in Japanese technology and started two businesses, in executive coaching and renewable energy.

Jenaline has 28 years of corporate experience which includes Sales and Marketing, Partners Management, Customer Service Management, Strategic Planning, Business Development, MIS, HR & Finance. Her industry sector exposure includes semiconductor, info-communication technology, training and education, healthcare services and renewable energy. She has worked for Micron, Siemen Nixdorf, IBM and two of NTUC Social Enterprises. She served as a board member for several private and non-profit organizations.

Jenaline graduated with a Degree in Engineering from National University of Singapore and a MBA from the University of Hull (UK). She is a certified Professional Coach from Erickson Coaching International (Canada) with ICF ACC credential, a TLQ 360 Leadership Feedback Coach, an EQ-i 2.0/EQ 360 Workplace & Leadership Assessment Coach, an ACTA Facilitator and an Adjunct Lecturer in management subjects with several universities and polytechnics.

Sivakami D/O Gopalakrishnan

Member

Sivakami is the Director of Next U – a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTUC LearningHub as well as Director of Employability Campus in LHUB. The Employability Campus complements the work of the Labour Movement in helping workers gain work and life skills that transform their lives, helping them to remain employable, and to grow and improve themselves through lifelong learning.

She started her career in LHUB since its incorporation as a Curriculum Manager before moving on to sales. In the last 7 years, Sivakami was able to be part of and managing the various sales teams in LHUB. In her last role as the Assistant Director of Sales, she had the opportunity to work with the full spectrum of customers that LHUB served – individuals, unions, labour intermediaries and corporate organisations.

Prior to joining LHUB, Sivakami spent 3 years in NTUC Administration and Research Unit (ARU) Skills Development Department. She was involved in curriculum development and the running of the IT Training Centre.

Sivakami holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science & English Language) from National University of Singapore.

Cynthia Lim

Member

Cynthia Lim oversees the Quality and Operations Department of LHUB. She is responsible for driving quality-compliance and improvements, pertaining to operations within LHUB.

Cynthia has more than 10 years of quality management experience under ISO and various quality standards. Prior to this, Cynthia also worked at the NTUC Admin Research Unit (ARU) managing systems, operations, membership recruitment and Skills Development Redevelopment funding administration.

She received a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from National University of Singapore.

Anthony Chew

Member

Anthony heads the Next U Campus which focuses on business excellence solutions for PMEs and holistic consultancy services for corporate clients in particular. Prior to that, he has worked in the education and training industry for the past 15 years, holding various functions.

After his 4-year stint as a Senior Academic Staff with Republic Polytechnic, Anthony joined NTUC LearningHub as a Senior Training Manager, overseeing courseware and trainers’ management. With his vast sales experience and his desire to better understand industry needs and demands, Anthony was transferred internally to become the Senior Sales Manager, heading the Institute of Business Excellence sales team.

Anthony hopes to develop in-house pedagogy using more technology-based, engaging and modern teaching and delivery methods. Being experienced in sales management, he has a deep understanding of the industry’s business and training needs. In his previous position as Head of CMD, Anthony was well positioned to lead his team to provide total solutions that were unique to each client.

Anthony graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance. He also holds a MBA from Nanyang Technological University, majoring in Accountancy.

Harry Klass

Member

Harry Klass has held positions in the Singapore Armed Forces, Food and Beverage, Oil & Gas, Retail and Continuing Education industries.

A recipient of the Singapore Workforce Development Agency’s (WDA) scholarship in 2013, Harry has risen through each industry by leveraging on the WSQ system and progressed horizontally across different industries.

A strong believer in continuing education has seen Harry develop his skills in different areas of the education sector, especially in the area of e-content development, eLearning architecture and Omni-channel instructional design.

In the blended learning space, Harry has worked with different partners and developers in creating different learning environments and curriculum that enable learning with the use of virtual simulations, interactive videos and engaging content.

Harry graduated with a BA(Hons) in Retail Marketing from the University of Stirling in 2015.

Brian San

Member

Brian heads the Employability Product Division, as well as the Strategy and Communications Team. The Employability Product Division focuses on helping workers gain work and life skills that transform their lives, helping them to remain employable, and to grow and improve themselves through lifelong learning. Brian is also responsible for developing longer term strategies, growing NTUC LearningHub’s brand presence and managing media relations.

Prior to joining NTUC LearningHub, Brian was a Vice President at PSB Academy, where he was responsible for regional expansion, managing university partner relationships and driving brand growth. He has also served as a Case Team Leader at management consultancy Bain & Company, where he served clients from a range of sectors including financial services, retail and private equity, across the UK, Greater China and Australia.

Brian holds a BA(Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Paul Joseph Nelson

Member

Paul J Nelson is the Director heading the Central Operations for NTUC LearningHub (LHUB) including customer service. His primary responsibility is to ensure process efficiency so as to optimise the customer experience from programme registration to certification.

Before joining LHUB, Paul was a Senior Consultant helping regional clients with productivity improvements through Lean Thinking Methodology for 3 years. Prior to that, he was a Manufacturing Operations leader and contributed 25 years of spearheading operations improvements in Singapore and Malaysia. His various experiences included heading Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehousing and Enterprise Resource Planning System Implementation while using Lean Thinking to constantly improve processes by working closely with staff from all levels.

Paul believes strongly in the power of lean transformation, continuous learning and embracing change. He graduated with an Engineering degree from the National University Of Singapore, went on to do a Master of Business Administration from the Nanyang Business School and recently obtained his Advanced Certificate in Training Assessment (ACTA)

Tay Ee Learn

Member

Ee Learn heads the Trades Division, the largest provider of WSQ Security as well as Workplace Safety and Health training for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). The division works with the regulators, unions and industry to provide a comprehensive range of learning services and solutions for security, cleaning, industry skills as well as workplace safety and health skills and certifications.

Ee Learn started his career with the Ministry of Defence where he was involved in training, operations, information technology and supply chain functions across the organization. Having accrued experiences through both international and national projects, Ee Learn moved on to the industry where his corporate functions include operations, food production, supply chain management, safety, security and information technology. He had served as a board member for several private organizations.

Ee Learn is a strong believer in continuous experiential learning and improvement. He graduated with honours in Engineering from King’s College London, and holds a Masters of Engineering in Logistics from MIT.
