Course Overview

This capstone course focuses on 2 areas: 1) emotional intelligence for an organisation and 2) your skill as a certified emotional intelligence practitioner.

Emotional Intelligence for an organisation:
Building your knowledge and understanding of how to utilise Emotional Intelligence tools for organisations will lead you to successful conversations.

We will explore the purpose, the considerations of organisation culture, the importance of organisation diagnosis and the method of how to conduct a proper diagnosis. This course will explore emotional intelligence predictive analysis and its application for talent management.

The critical questions to answer are: What is my ROI on training and how can I measure the effectiveness of emotional intelligence for the organisation? What intervention strategies can you use to help leaders develop their Emotional Intelligence? How can Emotional Intelligence help the general workforce, especially people leaders?

Your skill as a certified emotional intelligence practitioner
This course helps you understand effective communication techniques used to encourage organisations to adopt emotional intelligence and how to manage resistance to change. As a final capstone course, you will learn how to debrief and review a 360 Genos Emotional Intelligence report, debrief the report on an individual and group basis, and differentiate between a leadership and individual report. Finally, how to embark on a coaching conversation as you administer the report.

Becoming a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner? This is Module 3 of 3 courses to be a Certified Genos Emotional Intelligence Practitioner. Current ICF coaches who complete the 3 modules will receive 10 CCEU/ CCE core competencies and 4 resource development hours towards your ICF membership renewal.

Genos International Certificate Assessment
As part of certification requirements, participants must complete the following to obtain their Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner:

  • 1 hour of 1:1, 360 survey debrief by the master trainer
  • 1 hour of demonstrating debrief proficiency assessment by a Master Certified Practitioner

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Determine the scope of an emotional intelligence framework that supports talent competencies.
  • Establish measures to enhance organizational Emotional Intelligence effectiveness.
  • Utilise Emotional Intelligence tools to predict talent’s behavioural outcomes.
  • Evaluate interventions to increase organizational Emotional Intelligence effectiveness.
  • Embark with confidence on how to deliver a report with a purpose and focus that is relevant for individuals and organisations.

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are:

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 8
  • Completed Module 1: Emotional Intelligence Essentials AND Module 2: Developing Emotional Intelligence
  • Hardware & Software (if applicable)
    • This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
    • Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or MacOS (64 bit or above) 
  • Processor/CPU: 1.8 GHz, 2-core Intel Core i3 or higher 
  • Minimum 20 GB hard disk space

  • Webcam (camera must be turned on for the duration of the class)

  • Internet Connection: Wired or Wireless broadband 
  • Latest version of Zoom software to be installed on computer or laptop prior to the class.

    Wired internet will provide you with stable and reliable connection. 
  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor. 

Not recommended:
Using tablets are not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

Learning Unit 1: Concept of Organisation Diagnosis

  • Review Module 1 & 2 definition of emotional intelligence
  • Establish specific Emotional Intelligence competencies relevant to Talent Management
  • What is organisation diagnosis, the purpose and why is it important?
  • What are the steps to formulate a diagnosis?

Learning Unit 2: Establish measures to enhance organisation Emotional Intelligence effectiveness

  • What is Organisation Emotional Intelligence Effectiveness?
  • How can organisations utilise this to measure success and the appropriate strategy to use?
  • Is Emotional Intelligence important for all levels of employees?
  • Strategies for developing Emotional Intelligence in leaders.
  • What Emotional Intelligence assessments can be used?

Learning Unit 3: Predicting talent behavioural outcomes

  • What dimensions are measured by the tool and why is this significant for Emotional Intelligence?
  • What steps can you take to develop tools for organisation diagnosis?
  • What considerations do you have to look at in organisation diagnosis?
  • Predictive analysis and its application in talent management

Learning Unit 4: Interventions to help organisation Emotional Intelligence effectiveness part 1

  • What is Organisation Development and the significance of Organisational Development in change interventions?
  • Integration of Emotional Intelligence in Organisation Development
  • What specific interventions are needed for organisations?

Learning Unit 5: Interventions to help organisation Emotional Intelligence effectiveness part 2

  • Techniques to communicate and engage stakeholders to adopt Emotional Intelligence.
  • How do you manage resistance to change?
  • Review concerns and address them.

Learning Unit 6: Practising to be a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner

  • Review your 360 report and focus your conversation.
  • You will receive group mentorship in reviewing and explaining several types of survey reports with discussions on how best to engage the organisation/ individual.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as Organisational Diagnosis HRS-BIN-5097-1.1.
  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
  • Complete 3 Modules (EI Essentials, Developing EI and Certified EI Practitioner) and be a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner from Genos International.
