This ICAgile accredited course examines the roles and responsibilities of team members working on agile projects, delves into the specific practices which are used on agile projects, explains the theory and concepts behind the agile approach and prepares team members to be immediately productive working in an agile environment.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of what to expect on an agile project and the skills to be effective in one. The course, designed and built locally, covers the philosophy, values, principles and background of the agile methodology. It explains the flow, the processes and the environment of an agile project, giving participants an overall understanding of the agile world and the tools and techniques used in delivering value. It presents a structure for defining value and ensuring the project delivers the right product at the right time for the right customer.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe how to deliver a project incrementally and iteratively;
  • list 3 Agile Practices to deliver projects;
  • describe a mindset that is supportive of the Agile way of working ;
  • list 2 prioritisation techniques used by Agile Teams;
  • identify stakeholders in a project;
  • describe how Agile Teams should collaborate as guided by Agile principles;
  • define customers’ needs and/or requirements using user stories;
  • identify sequence of work with reference to estimated (1) value of user stories and (2) effort;
  • identify information radiator(s) for tracking progress;
  • identify information radiator(s) for tracking performance; and
  • identify retrospective stages to identify, discuss and agree on risk action plans.

Pre-requisites

  • Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word

    This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download

    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Using tablets is not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

After completing this course and successfully demonstrating the understanding of all learning outcomes, participants will receive the ICAgile Certified Agile Professional (ICP) certification which is recognized worldwide. The certification is governed and maintained by ICAgile.

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP: 

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP. 

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding: 

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee.
  • Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
