Course Overview

This course is Module 2 of the Khysalis Coaching Series, an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited programme. Participants who complete the full Khrysalis Coaching Series comprising 3 modules, will be eligible to apply for Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credentialling from ICF.

This course helps you gain greater clarity in coaching others through coaching conversations, building greater self-awareness, support performance conversations and resolve issues to bring others forward.

This course prepares you onwards to being a coach by enhancing your coaching skillsets with a better understanding of positive psychology and emotional intelligence to gain greater empathy when engaging your “coachee” in a coaching conversation.

Develop your coaching presence by embracing different coaching models and creating one that works for you. Help others breakthrough their issues with a coaching mindset and utilize a coaching tool “Wheel of Life” to explore thoughts, behaviour and emotions of your “coachee”.

Improve your coaching presence; adopt or adapt coaching models; develop a coaching mindset and use coaching tools to explore thoughts, behaviour and emotions of your “coachee” to help them uncover insights for self-awareness and breakthrough in the personal or professional life.

This course meets the International Coaching Federation (ICF) standards requirements.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the high standards and ethics required to provide coaching
  • Acquire an understanding of the science behind the art of coaching
  • Understand Positive Psychology and to infuse Emotional Intelligence into the coaching process
  • Develop a coaching presence
  • Demonstrate active listening and effective questioning to enhance the coaching conversation
  • Apply coaching models to frame a coaching session
  • Interpret thoughts, behaviour and emotions and its implications in coaching

Pre-requisites

Participants should be able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 7.

Participants seeking to meet ICF Level 1: Associate Coach Certification (ACC) requirements must complete; The Coaching Essentials prior to starting The Developing Coach.

Part 1: The Coaching Traits

  • What is Professional Coaching?
  • What is Coaching & how it is applied in the Workplace?
  • The Coaching contract
  • Embodiment of a Great Coach

Part 2: The Coaching Psychology

  • Understand the difference between Telling vs Asking
  • Utilise Positive psychology
  • Build Emotional Intelligence

Part 3: The Coaching Presence

  • Develop a Coaching presence
  • Develop active listening
  • Create and ask Powerful Questions

Part 4: The Coaching Framework

  • Understand and apply various Coaching models
  • Eg: “FUEL”, “CLEAR”, “STEPPA”, “CIGAR” or your organisation’s coaching model
  • Develop a Coaching mindset
  • Learn what are the common Coaching mistakes
  • Understand and utilise the Wheel of Life in your coaching conversation
  • Unravel Thoughts, Behaviour and Emotions in your coaching conversation

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 100% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

SkillsFuture Credit:

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP:

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP.
