Course Overview

This program provides essential skills and knowledge for healthcare professionals to effectively prepare the clinic facilities and equipment for clinic operational services according to organisational procedures and guidelines. Participants would also learn techniques to conduct patient needs analysis and identify presenting conditions. They will be trained to provide immediate assistance to patients requiring additional attention and escalate urgent cases for medical triage.

The program aims to equip the participants the ability to manage complex and conflicting appointments and encourage patients to Adhere health check appointments.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Process admission and discharge procedures with follow-up appointments accordingly
  • Apply methods of patient needs analysis
  • Recognize patient presenting conditions
  • Assist patients that require additional attention immediately.
  • Escalate urgent conditions for medical triage.
  • Explain basic clinic procedures to new patients.
  • Arrange facilities and equipment needed for patients’ appointments and consultations including bed booking.
  • Act as a case coordinator for complicating and conflicting appointments.
  • Encourage patients to participate in health check appointments.
  • Adhere to patient service standards according to organizational guidelines

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are:

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4

Course Outline

Module 1: Introduction to types of patients and visitors during pre-registration.

Module 2: Apply organization procedures for patient procedures for patient registration and patient management system.

Module 3: Adhere to patient service standards according to organizational guidelines.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore.  
  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Funding Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

SkillsFuture Credit:

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding: 

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee.
  • Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
