Course Overview

The programme, WSQ Identify Personal Skills Gaps and Develop Steps to Enhance Professional Competencies is designed to help individuals identify their areas of strengths and skill gaps so that they can assess their level of professional proficiencies and develop practical steps in closing those gaps. It will also equip individuals with the knowledge of available resources and tools that they can tap on to plot their learning and development plans towards achieving both personal and professional goals.

Course Objectives

  • Identify learning and development gaps and related professional requirements and accreditation for continued professional practice
  • Make use of available resources to draw up individualized learning and development steps for continued professional advancement and lifelong employability, while ensuring professional competency gaps in the workplace are managed appropriately.

Pre-requisites

Be able to listen, speak, read and write English and use numeracy skills at a proficiency level equivalent to the following:

  • Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5
  • Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5

Hardware & Software
This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download.

  • Webcam (The camera must be turned on for the duration of the class)>

  • Internet Connection: Wired or Wireless broadband
  • Latest version of Zoom software to be installed on computer or laptop prior to the class.

    Wired internet will provide you with stable and reliable connection.
  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Not Recommended:

Using tablets is not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

Course Outline

In recent years, business disruptions have led to the development of new emerging business models such as the sharing economy with companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Grab, Go-Jerk, WeWork etc. leading the charge of industry 4.0 and the future of work.

Reflective Practice provide the necessary foundational framework for continuous self-reflection of the currency of one’s own knowledge and skill in a world of disruptions and changing nature of work. This program aims to equip individuals with the ability to diagnose one’s own skill set and to chart the direction of his/her own professional development using SMART objective setting methodology.

  • Learning Unit 1 – The Evolving Nature of Work and Worker 4.0
  • Learning Unit 2 – Not just Lifelong Learning but Lifelong Employability

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • A Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued.
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Additional Details

  • In-session Facilitation: 9.00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Total Training Hours:  9.75 Hours (includes 2 hours of asynchronous (self-directed) eLearning component)
  • Total Assessment Hours: 15 Minutes
  • Portfolio Submission within 1 calendar week after the end of the In-session facilitation.
  • Oral Questioning (15 minutes) conducted on a separate day within 5 working days submission of portfolio.
