Course Overview

The management of nutrition and fluids is an essential component in caring for patients. It is an important aspect of healthcare that aids patients’ recovery from illness and maintaining optimal health. As healthcare workers, require to have basic understanding on the types of diet in order to provide the right diet to the right patients, and therefore assist the patients to meet their nutritional needs.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

Recommend the types and application of thickeners for normal and therapeutic diets, enteral feeds, and nutritional supplement.
Demonstrate oral feeding to assist needy patients according to standard practice.
Monitor, document and report on the intake and output of patients.

LEARNING UNIT 1: UNDERSTANDING DIET AND NUTRITION
LEARNING UNIT 2: PROVIDE ORAL FEEDING ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS
LEARNING UNIT 3: REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION OF ORAL FEEDING

Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore.
Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
