This course is designed for anyone seeking CCNA certification. The course also provides foundational knowledge for all support technicians involved in the basic installation, operation, and verification of Cisco networks.

Course Overview

The NICF-Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions (CCNA) (SF) course gives you a broad range of fundamental knowledge for all IT careers. Through a combination of lecture, hands-on labs, and self-study, you will learn how to install, operate, configure, and verify basic IPv4 and IPv6 networks. The course covers configuring network components such as switches, routers, wireless LAN controllers, managing network devices, and identifying basic security threats.

Upon course completion, you will be able to

  • Identify the components of a computer network and describe their basic characteristics
  • Understand the model of host-to-host communication
  • Describe the features and functions of the Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS®) software
  • Describe LANs and the role of switches within LANs
  • Describe Ethernet as the network access layer of TCP/IP and describe the operation of switches
  • Install a switch and perform the initial configuration
  • Describe the TCP/IP Internet layer, IPv4, its addressing scheme, and subnetting
  • Describe the TCP/IP Transport layer and Application layer
  • Explore functions of routing
  • Implement basic configuration on a Cisco router
  • Explain host-to-host communications across switches and routers

Pre-requisites

  • Participants of this course should have
    • Foundation network implementation experience (Internet Protocol, IP addressing, Network Access, Security Fundamental)

      OR
    • Have previously attended CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+

  • Hardware & Software
    This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download

  • Webcam (The camera must be turned on for the duration of the class)

  • Latest version of Zoom software to be installed on computer or laptop prior to the class.

  • Wired internet connection
    Wired internet will provide you with stable and reliable connection.

  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Not Recommended:

Using tablets is not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

The participant will be able to attempt the 200-301 Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam after attending this course. Upon passing the exam, you will receive the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation from CISCO. This certification validates a participant's proficiency in configuring, operating, and troubleshooting medium-sized networks.
