Course Overview

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of continuous improvement process management and its role in enhancing organizational performance. Participants will learn the key concepts and principles of continuous improvement, explore various tiers of systems and processes within an organization, and develop the skills needed to identify, gather, analyze, and document data for process improvement activities. The course will also emphasize the importance of aligning improvement initiatives with organizational goals and recording implemented changes for future reference.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the concept and principles of the continuous improvement process management.
  • Determine the roles and responsibilities in accordance with organisational goals.
  • Identify the different tiers of systems and processes within the organisation.
  • Gather the information and data to support process improvement activities.
  • Conduct the process improvement activities
  • Explain the importance of proper documentation
  • Identify the types of data
  • Record the implemented changes with the data in the work processes in accordance with organisational procedures

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are: 

  • Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy Level 3
  • Be able to read and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy Level 3
  • Be able to use Numeracy skills at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Numeracy Level 3
  • Be in the F&B industry with minimum 6 months’ work experience

Course Outline

LU1: Basics of Continuous Process Improvement

  • Continuous improvement process management in food service sector
  • Determine the roles and responsibilities in accordance with organizational goals

LU2: Process Improvement Activities

  • Identify the different tiers of systems and processes within the organization
  • Gather information and data to support process improvement activities
  • Conducting process improvement activities

LU3: Documentation for the New Work Processes

  • Explain the importance of proper documentation
  • Identify the types of data
  • Record the implemented changes with the data in the work processes in accordance with organizational procedures

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as [code name i.e., FSS-SPI-1013-1.1 Systems and Work Process Improvement].
     
  • Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
