Course Overview

According to Angela Duckworth author of Grit, it is the ability to work hard for a long period of time to achieve long term goals and persevere despite the challenges, failures, rejection and adversity. Grit leadership hence acts like a driving force for someone to not give up and quit. It fuels someone’s capacity to overcome obstacles and keep moving forward. This and the ability to purposefully develop a growth mindset strengthen personal resilience, especially during challenging situations.

This interactive 1-day workshop will explore proven techniques on grit leadership and how cultivating resilience can help impact the team positively to achieve their goals and ultimately the success they desire.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize the foundation of ‘Grit’ leadership and how it can be leveraged to build resilience and thrive
  • Learn personal resilience level through assessment
  • Learn resilience coping techniques to thrive in uncertainty
  • Understand the key attributes of ‘Grit’ and utilize it well to achieve personal positive impact
  • Discuss key elements of ‘Grit’ leadership with the use of practical examples
  • Obtain a personal ‘Grit’ resilience plan to start a progressive journey to achieve personal success

Pre-requisites

Participants should be able to speak, listen and read English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5.

  • Adopting an attitude of passion and perseverance
  • Gritty hope: cultivating motivation to achieve greater heights
  • Accepting failures and reframing it as an opportunity
  • Ability to accept criticism and leverage on optimism

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
