Course Overview

The course fee also includes 1 assessment for the IHRP certification.

This is a 3 days preparatory course designed for individuals who have less than three years of experience working in HR and are interested in pursuing the IHRP Certified Associate (CA) certification. The course is specifically tailored for aspiring HR professionals and aims to provide them with a foundational understanding of HR based on the IHRP Body of Competencies (https://ihrp.sg/boc/functional-competencies/plan).

Upon completing the course, participants will have the knowledge and skills necessary to implement various human capital and organizational development strategies within their companies. Additionally, the course will better prepare participants for the IHRP Paper N & A Assessment, which is a requirement for achieving the IHRP Certified Associate (CA) certification.

Course Objectives

This is an intensive 3-days Course to enable HR practitioners to be competent in the roles and responsibilities of a HR personnel throughout the HR Life Cycle of Plan, Attract, Develop, Engage and Separate in accordance with the IHRP Body of Competencies. The course is also designed for HR personnel to be better prepared for the IHRP-CP (Certified Professional) on-site assessment of Paper B. The course will cover all the 5 Functional Competencies and their sub-competencies plus the 3 Foundational Competencies (excluding Labour Policies and Legislation which is assessed in Paper A). The mindsets and behavioural competencies are intertwined throughout the course to provide participants with greater contextualisation and to facilitate understanding.

Pre-requisites

Student or a working professional who currently do not meet the eligibility criteria required for IHRP Certified Professionals (IHRP-CP), that are:
(1) 3 years of HR-related work experience and
(2) 150-hours of HR-related training or education

Learner will need to apply for the IHRP account in order to take the assessment. During this application, learner will be required to upload their resume, including their full name and email address.

Learners are assumed to able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5.

For assessment, do note that it can only be done remotely.

You should have ensured that your device fulfilled the following hardware and system requirements before applying for remote assessment:

  • Laptop or desktop computer: 1GB ram & above, 1GHz or faster processor. Please note that due to firewall configurations on corporate laptops, only personal laptops should be used.
  • Webcam: able to support minimum of 320 x 240 recording of colourvideo at 15fps

  • Microphone (integrated or external)
  • Internet connection: Active internet connection with a minimum speed of 512 Kbps
  • Operating system: Windows Vista & above / OS X (10.6+)

This course can also be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from

    Wired internet will provide you with stable and reliable connection.
  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Not Recommended:
Using tablets is not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

Course Outline

At the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • LO1: The participant will be able to understand fundamental HR knowledge based on IHRP Body of Competencies.
    • Describe IHRP development and certification pathways
    • Interpret IHRP Body of Competencies
    • Relate fundamental HR knowledge based on IHRP Body of Competencies
    • Discuss applications of fundamental HR knowledge based on IHRP Body of Competencies
  • LO2: He/she will be able to apply the knowledge in the implementation of various Human Capital and Organisational Development strategies by the company.
  • LO3: The course will also better equip and prepare participants for IHRP’s Paper N& A Assessment which is part of the requirement to be a IHRP Certified Associate.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Official Certification of Attainment from The Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP)
  • Participants who have successfully passed the examinations required for IHRP Certified Associate (IHRP-CA) will be awarded with an Official Certification of Attainment from The Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). Please note that IHRP assessment can only be be scheduled 2 weeks later after this course.
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
