Course Overview

This is a 2-day programme designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, methodologies, and practices involved in managing risks and conducting audits in the field of Infocomm Technology (ICT). The course equips learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify, assess, mitigate, and manage risks, as well as effectively perform audits to ensure compliance, security, and operational efficiency. The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures, case studies, practical exercises, group discussions, and hands-on projects. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios, simulating risk management and auditing practices in the ICT industry.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the principles and importance of audit compliance and risk management.
  • Interpret relevant regulatory requirements compliance frameworks and relate key compliance areas and risk factors within an organization.

  • Demonstrates effective techniques for conducting compliance audits and reporting findings.
  • Discover risk assessment and management strategies to mitigate organizational risks.
  • Examine the role of internal controls in compliance management and monitoring.
  • Discover audit and compliance technologies and their applications.
  • Practice fraud detection and prevention techniques and corelate the role of auditors in this process.

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are: 

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 6
  • Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4

    • This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
    • Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or MacOS (64 bit or above)

  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Using tablets are not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

Funding Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses.
  • Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance.
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency.
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
