Course Overview

The Singapore government unveiled the Singapore Green Plan 2030 in 2021 seeking to chart and advance Singapore’s commitments under the United Nations’ 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and Paris Agreement. Sustainability has also become a global concern with increased awareness amidst erratic climate conditions.

Tourism contributes to global warming and resources consumption while being highly vulnerable climate change caused by global warming. Tourists are increasingly aware of the need to travel sustainably and responsibly. They are expected to consume travel products and services which are provided sustainably.

The Certificate in Sustainable Tourism Product and Services Development was established by TMIS in response to the increasing need for clarity and guidance amongst travel professionals who seek to incorporate sustainability practices in their travel products and services.
