Responsibilities
  • Work in multi-discipline teams to attend to specific design or process issues
  • Customize AgriTech solutions in accordance to the farm’s layout and requirements
  • Work with design engineers in control systems development for new & existing machines, options, or configurations
  • Prepare and update documentation and procedures
  • Participate in R&D projects
  • Interact with and lead Field Service Technicians in diagnosing and solving problems
  • Understand all safety and “best-practices’ codes and guidelines
  • Conform to all company safety standards and policies

The Hard Skills – Agritechnology and Farming

Programme Pre-requisites
  • Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 21 and above, who are currently unemployed but are looking for career conversion​
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience​
  • Committed to complete the programme​

Educational and other requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in any discipline
  • Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 5
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Comfortable & familiar with working on PC, Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Trainees must have a laptop/desktop with webcam

At the end of each phase, learners will go through projects where they can apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the courses.

Learning Objectives
In the recent months, SFA has tendered out 380,000 Sqm of vegetable farm plots, and almost 50,000 roof top plots for farming.  Each 10,000 sqm farm land requires an average of 10 workers (operational staff), and a team of 1 manager, 1 operations supervisor, 1 agronomist, 1 marketing staff (Executive/Management staff). This programme enables learners to acquire knowledge and skills in the areas of AgriTech farming, operations and business.
