This course is designed for IT professionals such as PC, desktop, and helpdesk technicians who have experience supporting PC hardware and wish to make the transition to become server hardware and support specialists.

Course Overview

The Official CompTIA Server+ Instructor and Student Guides (SK0-005) have been developed by CompTIA for the CompTIA certification candidate.

Rigorously evaluated to validate coverage of the CompTIA Server+ (SK0-005) exam objectives, The Official CompTIA Server+ Instructor and Student.  Guides teach the knowledge and skills required to install, configure, and manage server hardware and server operating systems; implement proper server hardening and security controls; successfully troubleshoot common server problems; demonstrate an understanding of key disaster recovery, high-availability, and backup concepts; and prepare candidates to take the CompTIA Server+ certification exam.

CompTIA Server+ SK0-005 certifies individuals who securely administer physical and virtual servers.

This exam will certify that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Install, configure and manage server hardware and server
  • operating systems
  • Implement proper server hardening and security controls
  • Successfully troubleshoot common server problems
  • Demonstrate an understanding of key disaster recovery, high availability and backup concepts

Course Objectives

In this course you will learn how to:

  • Build, maintain, troubleshoot, secure and support server hardware and software technologies
  • Implement virtualization and storage solutions for local, enterprise and cloud environments
  • Understand and comply with disaster recovery and general security procedures
  • Be familiar with industry terminology and concepts
  • Understand server roles and their interaction in a dynamic computing environment
  • Use automation, scripting, and virtualization to optimize server management
  • Understand on-premises and hybrid server environments to accommodate both enterprise and small business needs
  • Understand server administration and troubleshooting both on-premise and remotely
  • Be familiar with cloud computing concepts as they apply to server administration and maintenance

Pre-requisites

  • To ensure your success in your course you should have 18 to 24 months of hands-on experience with installation, configuration, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of PC hardware and network operating system issues. It is also recommended that you have the CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent training and experience.

    This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download

  • Processor/CPU: 1.8 GHz, 2-core Intel Core i3 or higher

  • Webcam (The camera must be turned on for the duration of the class)

  • Internet Connection: Wired or Wireless broadband
  • Latest version of Zoom software to be installed on computer or laptop prior to the class.

Good to Have:

  • Wired internet connection
    Wired internet will provide you with stable and reliable connection.

  • Dual monitors
    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor.

Not Recommended:

Using tablets is not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration.

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

  • External Certification Exam

The participant will be able to attempt the CompTIA Linux+ exam after attending this course.  Upon passing the exam, the participant will receive CompTIA Linux+ accreditation from CompTIA.
