Course Overview

This programme is targeted at personnel such as event and event venue managers, event organisers, Esport and gaming events staff, Branding and marketing managers, Line events producer, project manager, live events and audio-visual management staff, freelance tech crew and executives who are involved in planning, developing, and organising promotional, business, social, and MICE event plans for internal stakeholders or clients from local to international participants.

Course Objectives

This programme helps the event organisers in the development of event plans to meet stakeholder’s requirements such as purpose, timeline, and budget. This programme will also introduce participants to the new normal in the industry (e.g. Virtual, Hybrid, Streaming events).

Pre-requisites

Learners are required to:

  • Be aged 21 & above.
  • Have 2 years of experience in the required field.
  • Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability

Course Outline

LU1. Introduction to events
Be introduced to:

  • Various ways in which events are being conducted in a post-pandemic world and how to differentiate the types of events.
  • The events industry, its regulations requirements and compliance.
  • The roles of different venue personnel in the event management processes.


LU2: Planning for an event
Be introduced to:

  • Creating event plans for relationship building, celebration, fund-raising, media and other public relations objectives.
  • Features and functions of staging products and/or services at events.
  • Types of technical equipment required.
  • Key environmental and social impacts of event delivery.
  • The features of venue and capacities to accommodate different types of events.
  • Able to plan the details and mechanics of events.

LU3. Supporting the event
Be introduced to:

  • The managing of events by setting up events venues, following the agreed timeline, finishing within the budgetary requirements, coordinating the event logistics and setup such as event schedules and venue layout and dressing.
  • Maintain up-to-date market trends, consumer events schedules and venue preferences.
  • Evaluate and act in response to the need for adjustments to event plans.

LU4. Evaluate the performance of the event.
Be introduced to:

  • Performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of events planning and management.

LU5. Continual Improvement for the event.
Be introduced to:

  • Build on success of event and use data, feedback and market research to plan for future events.

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Funding Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP: 

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP.

Absentee Payroll (AP) Funding: 

  • $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
  • AP funding will be computed based on the actual number of training hours attended by the trainee.
  • Note: Courses / Modules under Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) will not be eligible for AP funding claim.
