This course aims to equip supervisors/manager as well as leaders in their organizations who play a vital role in driving productivity optimization by initiating and driving productivity optimisation in the organization.

Course Overview

In a highly competitive and fast-paced industry, productivity optimization has become increasingly important for the success of the food and beverage sector. To meet demand and stay ahead of the competition, individuals must work efficiently and effectively by improving processes. By optimizing productivity, it can help reduce waste, increase efficiency, and lower costs, making operations more sustainable and profitable. Moreover, they can improve the quality of services and processes, leading to greater success for their organization.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Relate productivity concepts and goals for the organisation
  • Illustrate the types of barriers to productivity improvement
  • Propose solutions to overcome barriers to productivity improvement
  • Explain the impact of proposed methods, tools and techniques for productivity improvement

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are: 

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 3 
  • Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 3 
  • Min 2 years of relevant experience in Food Services or related industry

LU1: Drive productivity improvement

  • Productivity concepts and goals of an organisation
  • Types of barriers to productivity improvement
  • Methods of overcoming barriers to productivity improvement in alignment to industry best practices

LU2: Strategies for leading productivity and process initiatives

  • Productivity improvement techniques and its potential impact

LU3: Evaluate and measure productivity improvement

  • Productivity action plans and initiatives
  • Productivity performance data

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as [code name i.e., FSS-PIN-4023-1.1 Productivity Optimisation for Food and Beverages Operations].
  • Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

Funding Eligibility Criteria

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses

  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments, and attain 100% competency
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria
  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

UTAP: 

  • This course is eligible for Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP).
  • NTUC members can enjoy up to 50% funding (capped at $250 per year) under UTAP.
