- Case Study

- Current retail business owners who want to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Mid-life PMEs who want to own their own business and have a career change.
Course Overview
Annual budgets have been the subject of criticism for years and they do not adequately identify and test critical assumptions and performance drivers. The myopic focus on finance often means that budgets function more akin to a performance contract. Budgets were useful for a time when business was more static. However, their usefulness has declined significantly due to the accelerated rate of change, and significant economic events that reshape markets dramatically and frequently.

Course Objectives
Successful candidates will be able to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills on the following:
- Establish a control system for income and expenses
- Monitor the control system for its effectiveness
- Administer petty cash
- Review financial records
Pre-requisites
- Speak, Listen, Read and Write English at WPL Level 4 or equivalent
- Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4 or equivalent
Course Outline
This course aims to enhance the ability of the learners from the Retail sector to establish and monitor Retail related control systems for income and expenses, administer petty cash and review financial records.
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub
Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
