Course Overview

This course will enable participants to use the latest digital tools that are in high demand, such as Generative AI using Copilot and Machine Learning to increase efficiency and productivity in transforming data into insights, creating data visualisation for presentations and reports with generated storytelling ideas, and making predictions based on data, all with automation and machine learning and data analytics using Copilot in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Moreover, with the surge of Artificial Intelligence and dependence on the cloud, they will learn how to deal with cybersecurity risks and be aware of cyberattacks that happen every day.

Course Objectives

The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace version 2.0 is designed to provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the digital workplace. Additionally, participants will be able to create AI-analysed insights from a data set which leads to a Copilot-generated presentation and report. The course is divided into four domains, namely In-demand Digital Tools, Automation, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity risks. Each domain is designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in the latest digital tools and techniques and equip them with the skills needed to thrive in today's digital world.

Pre-requisites

The admission requirements are: 

  • Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 4 
  • Manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4

    • This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
    • Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download

    Using a dual monitor setup will undoubtedly improve your training experience, enabling you to simultaneously participate in hands-on exercises and maintain engagement with your instructor. 

Not recommended: 

Using tablets are not recommended due to their smaller screen size, which could cause eye strain and discomfort over the course of the program's duration. 

Course Outline

Domain 1: In-demand Digital Tools

  • Introduction to the latest AI tools
  • Write effective Generative-AI prompts
  • Experience and use Generative Artificial Intelligence using Copilot to enhance work processes, insights generation, and productivity through Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience Generative-AI in documents, images, and media
  • Hands-on experience on Copilot using a sample dataset in Excel, enhance prompts in Word, and generate slides from defined points.

Domain 2: Automation

  • Introduction to hardware and software automation, and its usages
  • Learn how machines learn using data
  • Automate insights from data in Microsoft Excel into presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint and reports in Microsoft Word
  • Translate images into insights powered by Generative-AI
  • Hands-on experience in the automated generation of graphs, report, and presentation

Domain 3: Data Analytics

  • Introduction to Data, Analytics and its applications
  • Utilise Copilot in Microsoft Excel to generate data relations (eg: pivot tables, graphs, etc)
  • Generate and evaluate insights from analysed data and translate into data visualisation
  • Generate forecast and extrapolate decisional points based on combined data and generated insights
  • Hands-on experience in the generation of insights and corresponding graphs

Domain 4: Cybersecurity risks

  • Introduction to cybersecurity and its importance in the digital workplace aligned to the Digital Skills for Life (DSL) framework
  • Play a part in cyber attacks
  • Explore the footsteps of a cyber criminal
  • Risks of over reliance on Generative-AI
  • Take steps to mitigate cybersecurity risks

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by

  • Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace 2.0 (Powered by ICDL) Certification of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
