This course is designed for participants from the Organizations in the manufacturing, service-based industries, as well as in higher education. This would be relevant to General Managers, Department Managers, Engineers, Officers/Executives, Supervisors, Technicians and Administrative staff.
Course Overview
On successful completion of this unit, learner will have the knowledge and skills in applying the principles and techniques to cultivate a LEAN culture in the workplace.

Participants will be able to apply, demonstrate and practice the knowledge and skills learnt on Application of skills in ‘LEAN’ culture in the workplace for the continuous improvement in the organisation.
- Interpret ‘lean’ thinking to eliminate wastes.
- Carry out waste elimination activities in the workplace.
- Contribute ideas for work improvement activities.
Pre-requisites
WPLN5 – English – Level 5 for reading, listening, speaking and writing) or GCE“O” Level – English Grade B
Course Outline
- Introduction to Lean thinking.
- Interpret ‘lean’ thinking to eliminate wastes and increase value-added activities.
- I Identify the standardised work in the workplace.
- Follow the Lean principles in the standardised workplace according to the simulation guide.
- Identify the relationship between ‘lean’ thinking and productivity.
- Carry out waste elimination activities in the workplace.
- Provide ideas for continuous work improvement activities.
- Apply improvement activities based on the five principles of ‘lean’.
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
- Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub
Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
