Course Overview
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to manage emergency response plans for the range of contingencies affecting the various industries.

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Able to identify the legislative requirements related to emergency preparedness and response.
- Able to recognise the types of emergency situations for the organisation.
- Able to identify the composition and roles and responsibilities of emergency response team.
- Able to organise the implementation of WSH EPRPs
- Able to identify the types of organisational emergency response plans.
- Able to maintain emergency response equipment.
- Able to prepare the internal and external emergency contact lists that are relevant to the organisational emergency response plans.
- Able to coordinate emergency response training and rehearsals process for the emergency response teams.
- Able to identify the external assistance in planning and handling emergency situations.
- Able to organise the emergency response drills to validate the implemented Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans (EPRP) in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Able to coordinate the review of the emergency preparedness and response plans.
Pre-requisites
Learners are assumed to:
- Possess ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 or GCE “N” Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade 5; and
- Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH and
- Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience

- Checking the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP)
- Reviewing the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP)
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Upon completion of the course a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
- Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub
Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
