Course Overview
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to apply a systematic and objective approach in workplace incident and accident investigations which include responding, reporting, gathering data and information, root cause analyses, implementation and review of corrective and preventive measures, to prevent recurrence of incidents and accidents

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Able to identify the WSH legal requirements related to incident investigation.
- Able to identify the stakeholders to include in the WSH incident investigation teams.
- Able to identify the various types of incidents for investigation.
- Able to respond promptly to the incidents
- Able to carry out the WSH incident investigations
- Able to apply root cause analysis tools to determine the root cause of incidents including personal health issues.
- Able to suggest, monitor and report the corrective and preventive measures to address possible root causes of the incidents.
- Able to file a report to relevant authorities in accordance with reporting protocols and requirements
Pre-requisites
Learners are assumed to:
- Possess ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 or GCE “N” Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade 5; and
- Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH and
- Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience

Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Upon completion of the course a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
- Certificate of completion from NTUC LearningHub
Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
