Course Overview

This course is intended for learners who want to improve their leadership abilities through the lens of strategic planning and visionary leadership. Learners will gain an understanding of the notion of vision leadership, as well as the complexities involved in creating business strategies that take both external and internal factors into account. They will also learn how to create high-level business unit strategies that are compliant with company governance and social responsibility regulations. The course will cover effective communication techniques, management leadership qualities, and self-reflection on leadership in strategic planning.

Course Objectives

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the concept of vision leadership.
  • Submit a research report to formulate the business strategies plan considering both the internal and external factors.
  • Establish a high-level business unit strategy to ensure alignment to business goals to support corporate governance and social responsibility requirements.
  • Apply communication techniques to engage employees to implement the established business strategies.
  • Demonstrate management leadership qualities to inspire the stakeholders towards achievement of business goals.
  • Appraise the systems and process to identify the required changes to improve compliance management on business strategies.
  • Self-examine one’s leadership qualities in strategic planning to enhance workplace performance.

  • Age 18 years old and above
  • At least 2 years working experience
  • Able to read, write and speak in English (WLPN Level 4 and above)

Course Outline

LU1. Overview of Vision Leadership
This LU is a self-paced e-learning session in Canvas. Learners will be introduced the concepts of developing organisational strategies and reviewing corporate governance management to meet organisational needs.

LU2. Report on Strategic Planning research process
The learners will learn both the internal and external factors that affect the business strategies plan. Learners will also learn about the legal and other considerations relating to organisational strategy development, corporate governance, and social responsibility.

LU3. Involve various stakeholders to develop organisational vision, mission and values

The learners will be taught to involve various stakeholders to develop the organisational vision, mission and values.

 

LU4. Implement the organisation’s corporate governance and social responsibility requirements.

The learners will be taught on how to apply communication techniques to engage employees to implement the established business strategies.

 

LU5. Inspire stakeholders with model leadership qualities.

The learners will be equipped with knowledge and abilities with management leadership qualities to inspire the stakeholders towards achievement of business goals.

 

LU6. Continual improvement in strategic planning by reviewing the systems and regular self-reflections.

The learners will be able to help organisation appraise the systems and process to identify the required changes to improve compliance management on business strategies.

  • Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as [RET-LPM-5002-1.1].

Upon meeting at least 75% attendance and passing the assessment(s), participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • From 1 October 2023, attendance-taking for SkillsFuture Singapore's (SSG) funded courses must be done digitally via the Singpass App. This applies to both physical and synchronous e-learning courses.​
  • Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments and attain 100% competency.
  • NTUC LearningHub reserves the right to claw back the funded amount from trainee if he/she did not meet the eligibility criteria.
