Course Overview
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to establish and monitor indicators measuring effectiveness of workplace safety and health policies and work procedures in preventing incidents and safeguarding employees.

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Able to prepare and execute the WSH inspections with the relevant stakeholders to check the WSH conditions and behaviours are in acceptable standards.
- Able to identify WSH inspection format and process.
- Able to report the findings on non-conformance and recommend corrective and preventive actions to the stakeholders.
- Able to keep track of closure of corrective and preventive actions with reference to identified WSH performance indicators
- Able to collect data on WSH performance indicators including personal health issues and organise a WSH performance records and reports showing indicators of conformance status and cost impacts due to poor WSH performance.
Pre-requisites
Learners are assumed to:
- Possess ES Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 or GCE “N” Level English grade 5 & Mathematics grade 5; and
- Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH and
- Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience
