Who Should Attend

  • Individuals who would like to design physical experiences for users and visitors.
  • Entrepreneurs and tourist guides who would like to explore the use of technology that can enhance user experience;
  • Supervisors and managers in the sectors of Travel and tour, attractions, MICE, etc who would like to design technology aided experiences for events, exhibitions, fairs, team building, scavenger hunts and walking trails.

Course Overview

  • Physical Experience Design (PXD) combines and leverages an array of traditional design disciplines (such as UX/UI, interior design, behavioural design and more) to build places and experiences in new, unique, innovative, and impactful ways. Through layering interaction with physical and digital content, PXD works to transform previously banal everyday spaces into impactful and memorable places and experiences.

  • This program will help participants understand the principles of physical experience design and apply a framework in the creation of physical user experiences. There will be a special focus on the development of a framework to integrate use of technological solutions for experience digitalisation and gamification. This can help individuals and organisations to reach new segments and deploy limited manpower more effectively. The workshop will ensure participants work through the stages of the physical experience design process to create physical experiences with users in mind. A hands-on approach is applied, where learners will produce a quest that embodies storytelling and a good user experience as part of the coursework.
