Course Overview
This five-day VMware course features intensive hands-on training that focuses on installing, configuring, and managing VMware vSphere 8, which includes VMware ESXi 8 and VMware vCenter 8. This course prepares you to administer a vSphere infrastructure for an organization of any size. This course is the foundation for most VMware technologies in the software-defined data center.

Course Objectives
By the end of the course, you should be able to meet the following objectives:
- Install and configure ESXi hosts
- Deploy and configure vCenter
- Use the vSphere Client to create the vCenter inventory and assign roles to vCenter users
- Create virtual networks using vSphere standard switches and distributed switches
- Create and configure datastores using storage technologies supported by vSphere
- Use the vSphere Client to create virtual machines, templates, clones, and snapshots
- Create content libraries for managing templates and deploying virtual machines
- Manage virtual machine resource allocation
- Migrate virtual machines with vSphere vMotion and vSphere Storage vMotion
- Create and configure a vSphere cluster that is enabled with vSphere High Availability (HA) and vSphere Distributed Resource Scheduler
- Manage the life cycle of vSphere to keep vCenter, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines up to date
Pre-requisites
We recommend that attendees of this course have the following prerequisites:
- System administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems
- Hardware & Software
- This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
- Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.

- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as ICT-SYS-4008-1.1 Systems Design and ICT-DES-4003-1.1 Infrastructure Design
- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
- External Certification Exam
The participant will be able to attempt the VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) exam after attending this course. Upon passing the exam, the participant will receive VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) accreditation from VMware.
Length: 130 minutes to complete the exam
Cost: 250 USD
Format: 70 Questions, Single and Multiple Choice, Proctored
Passing Score: 300VMware exams are scaled on a range from 100-500, with the determined raw cut score scaled to a value of 300. Your exam may contain unscored questions in addition to the scored questions, this is a standard testing practice. You will not know which questions are unscored, your exam results will reflect your performance on the scored questions only.
