Course Overview
Living in an age where technology is advancing quickly and organisations need to keep up with the pace, it is easy for the pressure of work to build up and for employees to end up leaving work stressed because of the demands placed on them. Organisations are under increasing strain to balance business profitability, manage a high performing workforce while developing staff, boosting engagement, and supporting employees’ work-life balance. Coaching can be used to maximises the individual’s potential by unlocking talent and sources of productivity.
This programme has been designed to help business professionals understand and learn the know-how of a successful and effective coaching skill, supporting employees through their mental wellness challenges, eventually increasing the resiliency of the workforce for the organisation.
This is part of the “Champion Employee Wellness” series comprising of 3 courses, targeted at HR professionals or management level staff of organisation to develop a resilient workforce through championing employee wellness. They include:

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand common mental well-being problems
- Connect and communicate with direct reports
- Support employees experiencing mental well-being issues
- Managing mental well-being issues in the workplace
- Evaluate emerging communication channels and tools to define adoption opportunities

This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download.

Course Outline
LU1: Understand Common Mental Well-being Problems
- Learners will learn to understand and analyse the common mental well-being problems and to employees who exhibit signs of facing mental well-being challenges.
LU2: Connect and Communicate with Direct Reports
- Learners will learn to understand and practice effective interpersonal communication techniques and styles, to achieve effectiveness in communication with employees
LU3: Support Employees with Mental Well-Being Issues
- Learner will learn to prepare and implement coaching and mentoring techniques for employees who are facing mental well-being challenges
LU4: Managing Mental Well-Being Issues in the Workplace
- Learner will learn how to manage mental well-being issues in the workplace
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Statement of Attainment from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG):
