Course Overview

This course is targeted at people leaders who wants to deepen their skillsets in leading and managing teams. A key element of a successful team is how team members can work synergistically with each other.
This course will help leaders to demystify the meaning of teams, teamwork and the approaches required to create a high performing team culture. Understand key traits and elements of leadership and teams to focus on to ensure your team can produce, multiply and sustain success.

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Establish common purpose of goals to ensure stakeholders’ alignment to achieve intended outcomes
- Manage stakeholders’ relationships to ensure achievement of goals and objectives
- Apply storytelling to share strategic insights to motivate stakeholders and address concerns
- Evaluate compromises and adopt win-win solutions to gain stakeholders’ buy-in
- Manage challenges in negotiations that impact desired strategic objectives
Pre-requisites
The admission requirements are:
- Read, write, and speak English at WPL Level 7
- Have more than 1 years or more of work experience; and
- Have at least 1 years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Hardware & Software (if applicable)
- This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform.
- Participants must own a Zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. Download from zoom.us/download.

- Define teamwork and team
- Four elements of teamwork
- Importance of team values and the “WE” over “ME” principle
- Establish team purpose and understanding morale
LU2: Accelerate Team
- Define successful team
- Elements of effective teams
- Establish and define shared vision for the team
- Qualities of a good team leader
LU3: Team Understanding
- Elements of an effective team
- Give and receive feedback as part of the team
- Establish accountability amongst team members
LU4: Team Performance
- Manage and drive team performance
- Produce, multiply and sustain teamwork
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Statement of Attainment (SOA), accredited by SkillsFuture Singapore. SOA will be reflected as Critical Core Skills – Collaboration CCS-CLB-I001-1.
- Upon meeting the attendance and assessment(s) criteria, participants will be awarded with a digital Certificate of Completion from NTUC LearningHub.
