Effective communication is the backbone of every successful organisation, applying appropriate communication approaches and conveying information to your audience is the key to getting buy-in and sending a clear message to stakeholders. With the rapid changes in the work environment, the way in which we communicate has also evolved from pure presentation to facilitation. It is imperative that one tailors communication approaches to the specific audience needs.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Apply stakeholders’ analysis to determine communication objectives and set communication priorities
- Adapt Communication Approaches and channels to meet communication objectives
- Identify communication gaps to improve communications
- Apply behavioural insights to audience reactions and adapt communication approaches
- Create a visually persuasive and impactful presentation
- Present information in flow and format that reflect audience needs

This course will be conducted as a Virtual Live Class (VLC) via Zoom platform. Participants must own a zoom account and have a laptop or a desktop with “Zoom Client for Meetings” installed. This can be downloaded from https://zoom.us/download.

Course Outline
LU1: Determine Communication Objectives
- Analyse communication objectives and determining communication priorities
- Understand stakeholder analysis techniques in determining communication objectives
- Evaluate communication objectives through different communication approaches and channels
- Reflect on how the planning of communication objectives helps to convey and exchange information
LU2: Identify Communication Gaps
- Identify communication gaps
- Acquire techniques to analyse communication gaps
- Understand the importance of information exchange and two-way interaction in seeking feedbacks
LU3: Adopt Behavioural Insights
- Adapt communication approaches in respond to audience reactions
- Understand behavioural insights concepts and reflect if the applied communication approaches impact their audience
- Reflect on if the application of the communication approach achieves the desired outcomes
LU4: Deliver Impactful Presentations
- Present information through the understanding of audience needs
- Apply techniques introduced earlier to plan and refine the presentation of information

Participants who have successfully demonstrated competence in all the knowledge and skills requirements in this programme will be awarded with a Statement of Attainment (SOA) by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG):
