What do Digital Health, Safety and Environment Executives Do?

The role of the Digital Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Executive is to work closely with various departments in the company to look at work, safety and health holistically to achieve overall worker’s well-being. This is to ensure that work is completed safely by monitoring working conditions and addressing physical, chemical, and biological hazards in the workplace. The Digital HSE Executive leverages on both digital technology and technology tools to assist in his or her day-to-day job tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement safety and health management plans while ensuring compliance by employees
  • Conduct safety observation and report on a regular basis
  • Attend safety walks and inspections to analyse physical, chemical, and biological risks
  • Educate employees on safety standards and expectations in areas of safety, environment and occupational hygiene & health
  • Provide recommendations or intervention plans to enhance the safety capabilities in the workplace through analyzing data trends or utilizing safety technology tools
  • Maintain records of the company’s safe work procedures and events through digital technology
  • Advise on the organisation’s total wellness plan and facilitate the team’s well-being plan for various departments

The Technical Skills – Workplace Safety and Health, Wellness, Occupational Hygiene Knowledge

Workplace Safety and Health – Sufficient breadth of knowledge, deeper insights and greater understanding of Workplace Safety and Health(WSH) today. Implement safety plans to support the business objectives of the organisation, as well as leverage on technology to enhance the safety capabilities within the organization

Wellness – Sufficient knowledge to advise on the organisation’s total wellness plan and to facilitate the team’s well-being plan for various departments

Safety & technology – How Safety can become more digital and reduce fatalities rates a digital age

Employee Education – Learn to apply unique digital experience techniques to improve the safety knowledge and skills of the employees

Safe Work Standard Operating Procedures – Streamline safe work procedures by leveraging on workflow automation tools

High IT literacy and strong numerical and analytical skills

The Adaptive Skills – working with People

Good Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback

Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to relate well with people at all levels and good service orientation

Programme Pre-requisites

  • Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 21 and above, who are currently unemployed but are looking for career conversion
  • Minimum 2 years work experience
  • Committed to complete the programme

Competencies required:

Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Minimum Higher Nitec in any discipline
  • Be able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6
  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 6
  • Prior experience in graphic design using Adobe suite of applications is preferred
  • Well versed in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint

At the end of each phase, learners will go through projects where they can apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the courses.
